The Motel Beds’ Mind Glitter out now!

motel_beds-mind_glitterDayton is the quintessential Midwetern city: blue collar, scrappy, and home to isolated innovators like the Wright Brothers, Guided By Voices, and the Deal sisters. Finding their own place in this mix, the Motel Beds are proud to release Mind Glitter, their first album of new material in nearly three years. While it would be easy to tie the sound of Motel Beds to the aforementioned Guided By Voices—especially since guitarist Derl Robbins has worked extensively with Bob Pollard over the past few years—they’ve been more heavily influenced by the sounds of traditional guitar-based bands like Cheap Trick and fellow Ohioans The Raspberries, as well as the orchestral pop of Surf’s Up–era Beach Boys. Mind Glitter is a record that flexes the bands strengths, with harmonies, guitar hooks, and melodies that are as strong as the steel mills of Ohio.

Mind Glitter can be purchased on CD, vinyl and/or digitally at Midheaven, Amazon, and local stores. Check out these reviews from Popshifter and The Rogers Review.
