“Not six months after their latest fine indie rock LP, In the Book of Bad Ideas, Ohio’s non-brothers\u2014like the Walker Brothers and Righteous Brothers, nyuck nyuck\u2014come right backatcha with a 10-minute six songer just as crispy. And even if four of those six barely manage the one-minute mark\u2014 drummer Don Thrasher<\/strong> is ex-Guided By Voices<\/strong>\u2014they feel complete. Singer\/guitarist Kyle Melton<\/strong> still sounds like Martin Newell and The Fast Camels\u2019 <\/em>Drew Sturgeon<\/strong><\/em>\u2014those are good things\u2014and they still propagate a nice variety while boring into their brevity, in the Tobin Sprout-ish \u201cThe Seven-Year Inch,\u201d the shaking, catchy riff-rock of \u201cCricket Blessings\u201d and \u201cShedding Polymer\u201d (like a great lost Young Fresh Fellows\u201d tune), and yummy psych-pop flashes in \u201cSeamus the Younger.\u201d But blink\u2014and it\u2019s over.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
