Speaking Suns to release “Range” on 9/29 via Anyway/RevolverUSA

Speaking Suns from Yellow Springs, Ohio will release their second LP and first for Anyway on 9/29, a sprawling double LP that has hints of Sea and Cake, Cocktails, Neil Young as well as Steely Dan and other like-minded bands, “Range” is a move forward for the band whose first LP has been out of print. The band will be touring the midwest, south and west during the month of October.

It is with extreme sadness that Jenny Mae has passed away, she was at the heart and soul of the Columbus, High Street scene during the 1990’s making to wonderful records for Anyway. She made many singles for various labels, and toured extensively playing with and winning fans such as the Palace Brothers, Neko Case, Guided by Voices, Smog, Rocketship, Kelly Hogan and more. She was funny as hell and could drink most truck drivers under the table, she made a marked impression on everyone who met her. A remembrance get together is planned in Columbus, which we will post. St. Lenox plays this Friday with The Speaking Suns, who hail from Yellow Springs, Ohio. Speaking Suns have released one LP that is sold out and their Anyway debut comes out this summer.

WV White will release their sophomore LP, “House of Spiritual Athletes” on April 21 through Revolver USA. Two years in the making, the record continues the band’s excellent noisy-scrubby sound that won them praise from Impose, StillSingle, Fuckin Record Reviews and ended up on many best of 2014 lists.  Vinyl is limited to 300 copies.

Mary Lynn premiers “Plans” video on Bankrobber Music from the Mug and Brush Sessions

Mary Lynn’s “My Animal” has been getting a great deal of play in the U.K. with some nice plugging from Spotify, she recently inked a licensing agreement with our old friends at Bank Robber Music (who also work with Merge, Numero and Thrill Jockey). This is her first video from her Mug & Brush Sessions.
